COMMITTEE REPORTS

 

ADDITIONS AND DELETIONS TO THE AGENDA

 

Additions to the agenda are limited by California Government Code Section 54954.2 of the Brown Act and for those items that arise after the posting of the Agenda and must be acted upon prior to the next Commission meeting.

 

PUBLIC COMMENTS

 

Any member of the public may address the Commission on items within the Commission's subject matter jurisdiction but which are not listed on this agenda during public comments.  However, no action may be taken on matters that are not part of the posted agenda.  Public comments are scheduled for 30 minutes and are limited to 3 minutes per person.  If you wish to speak, please complete a Speaker's Form and submit it to the Recording Secretary.

All matters listed under Consent Calendar are considered to be routine and enacted by one roll call vote.  There will be no discussion of these items unless members of the Community Services Commission request specific items to be removed from the Consent Calendar for separate discussion. Any member of the public may address the Commission on items on the Consent Calendar.  Public comments on any item or items on the consent calendar are limited to three minutes per speaker. APPROVAL OF COMMUNITY SERVICES COMMISSION MINUTES

 

RECOMMENDED ACTION:

Approve minutes of the Community Services Commission regular meeting held February 19, 2014.

Public Hearings are scheduled for a time certain of 5:30 p.m., unless noticed otherwise, or as soon thereafter as possible.  Those wishing to address the Commission during the Public Hearing must complete a form and provide it to the Recording Secretary prior to the hearing.

Adopt RESOLUTION 14-02 - A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMUNITY SERVICES COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF IRVINE RECOMMENDING THAT THE PLANNING COMMISSION APPROVE PARK PLAN (FILE NO. 00592441-PPP) FOR A 0.60 ACRE PRIVATE NEIGHBORHOOD PARK TO SERVE THE DEVELOPMENT OF 221 SENIOR AFFORDABLE UNITS WITHIN DISTRICT 8 (PAVILION PARK) IN PLANNING AREA 51 (GREAT PARK NEIGHBORHOODS)

PROPOSED MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE CITY OF IRVINE AND THE KOREA INSTITUTE OF TRADITIONAL LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE

 

RECOMMENDED ACTION:

Continue item to the Community Services Commission March 19, 2014 meeting.

ADVENTURE PLAYGROUND RENOVATION PROJECT UPDATE

 

 

RECOMMENDED ACTION:

1)

Review the Project Scope, Design Features, Revised Cost Estimates and Value Engineered Alternative for the Adventure Playground Renovation Project.

2)

Reaffirm and recommend City Council approval of the scope and design features, as depicted in Attachment 2 and described in Attachment 3, consistent with the June 6, 2012 Community Services Commission approved Park Design Modification, and recommend City Council direct staff to include the funding necessary for construction in the Fiscal Year 2014-15 Capital Improvement Program budget. - OR –

3)

Recommend City Council approval to revise the project scope and design features based on the items identified through the Value Engineered Alternative, and recommend City Council direct staff to include the funding necessary for construction of the revised project scope in the Fiscal Year 2014-15 Capital Improvement Program budget. - OR –

4)

Recommend City Council direct staff to cancel any further work on the project and return with a plan for alternative uses of the park site.

At 11:00 p.m., the Community Services Commission will determine which of the remaining agenda items can be considered and acted upon prior to 12:00 midnight and will continue all other items on which additional time is required until a future Commission meeting.  All meetings are scheduled to terminate at 12:00 midnight.

Regular meetings of the Community Services Commission are held on the first and third Wednesdays of each month at 5:30 p.m. unless otherwise noted.  The Community Services Commission Agenda is posted in the Police Department.  Meeting agendas and approved minutes are kept current on the City website at www.ci.irvine.ca.us.
